I'm getting ready to start a 6 month diet before I even attempt getting approval. I'm going to do Weigh****chers. Does anyone know if most insurance companies except WW?

Call and ask, please. Most times, these diets must be physician supervised and documented on your medical chart. A small amount of insurance companies will take WW though. It would be best to call them to confirm.

I did WW for 6 months supervised diet and it was accepted by my insurance (medical mutual) because I also went to my PCP office once a month for 6 months and she documented it in her notes.  Also, I hade her document what exercise I was doing at home, plus if I gained weight she documented  changes to try to lose the weight.  It is best to call your insurance company to see what they will and will not accept.

Most say no WW unless you also go see your doc each month.  be safe, go to your PCP each month, get weighed, make sure he/she writes down that you discussed your diet ad exercise and keep your ww records

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm going to visit my PCP and get set up on a medically supervised diet.
